This place is a great place for an upscale ambiance for a date, intimate family gathering, or taking your in-laws out to impress them! This place is best known for the Peking duck which is discounted if you order over a certain price threshold (I believe it was orders over $70 to get the duck for $39 -- double check with the waiter if this offer is still available). If you have a larger party they do a flaming duck experience which is all over social media to view. I have to give this place points for their exceptional service and plating! I recommend making a reservation since this place does get packed.

Array 36 is one of the few high end Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. Opening less than a year ago, this place really took Chinese fine dining to another level. Unlike what most people think about when dining at a Chinese restaurant, this place is about presentation, service, and luxury. As soon as you walk in, you see a giant hologram of a whale swimming on a waterfall stone wall. The lighting is dim, not like a typical Chinese restaurant with fluorescent lights. Tables were spaced out, allowing guests have private conversations without disrupting their neighbors. The food: 1. Peking Duck - major highlight of the evening. Skin is thin and crisp meat is succulent. Way better than Jin Rong's overrated, dry duck. Paired with thinly sliced cucumber strings, hoisin, and other seasonings to amp up each bite. 2. Beef Short Ribs - juicy, tender, melts in your mouth with every bite. Again, it comes with various sauces to give different flavor combinations. Even has a western-twist cheese fondue for pairing if you're into that. 3. Sizzling Black Cod Clay Pot - this dish comes with a presentation! The cod pieces are laid on top of a bed of garlic. This had great flavor, but definitely need to eat with care as it has a lot of bones. Probably wouldn't get again for that reason. 4. Crispy Prawns in Plum Sauce - fried perfectly. Comes with the shell, but plum sauce gives a nice sweet/savory flavor. 5. Sauteed Diced Beef in Black Pepper Sauce with King Oyster Mushroom - similar to French style filet mignon cubes. Meat was very tender. Mushrooms were nicely coated with the sauce. Also garnished with a crispy wonton to add crunchy texture. 6. Black Truffle Beef Fried Rice - you can really taste the truffle! You see truffle pieces throughout the dish, so they definitely didn't skimp on that. 7. Crab Meat and Scallion Oil Tossed Noodles (Per Serving) - one of the unique signature dishes of Array 36. The crab meat and roe were creamy and delicious. Worked perfectly with the noodles. Topped with some caviar because this place is all about being extra. Love this place. Prices are a bit expensive, hence the 4 star rating, especially for some of the more common dishes like the black cod and stir fried veggies. Aside from that I would highly recommend Array 36.

It's definitely a pleasure dining at Arrray 36 and it was a great experience! The Pecking duck is one of the best in L.A.! Each dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with the finest ingredients & presentation of the food was equally impressive. All the staff have top-notch service as well.
